The Z150 is the world’s first professional camcorder to feature a 1.0 type stacked CMOS image sensor. High quality 29-348mm wide-angle lens with 12x optical zoom makes it easy to capture even the most expansive landscape scenes while also offering superb clarity and sharpness – maximising the performance of the Z150’s large 1.0 type sensor and providing high resolution and contrast from the centre to the edge of your image.

Getting close into even the most distant scenes is further enhanced by Sony’s advanced Clear Image Zoom feature. Once you’ve zoomed in at maximum 12x optical magnification, By Pixel Super Resolution Technology can enlarge the image to 18x in 4K QFHD or 24x in HD, while still preserving image quality.

 


Dual media slots for recording flexibility

To extend recording times and workflow flexibility, the Z150 is equipped with two memory card slots and is compatible with SDXC and SDHC cards.

“RELAY” mode automatically switches recording from the first to the second memory card when the first is full, while “SIMUL” mode permits simultaneous recording to two memory cards (for example to create an immediate back-up version).

Multi-Interface (MI) Shoe

The Z150 takes advantage of Sony’s flexible Multi-Interface (MI) Shoe, which provides power, signal connections and coordinated on/off switching to compatible Sony accessories. For example, you can connect and control Sony wireless microphone systems such as the UWP-D11 or UWP-D12 or attach the HVL-LBPC light*.

* All sold separately. HVL-LBPC is controlled but not powered by Z150.

Wide choice of connections including 3G-SDI

There’s no need to worry about adapters as the Z150 provides a wide variety of built-in connectivity options including 3G-SDI, HDMI, Multi/Micro USB, professional audio XLR terminals, REMOTE and Composite (RCA). Challenges live mobile video streaming

High quality mobile video streaming can be challenging from remote locations such as news-gathering situations or other live events that may include sports events being filmed over a wide area. Cameras may need to provide live video streams from a car, motorcycle, drone or helicopter that are moving at speed. The fluctuating availability of the 3G or 4G cellular network makes it hard with traditional systems to maintain reliable HD quality of live streaming content. The RASCOW algorithm combined with H.265 and its small size and weight, the Zao-S provides high reliability that is easily transportable even on a person or bicycle. Consumer's desire to access high quality content anytime, anywhere, is driving demand for integrated TV services on any network. The proliferation of video capable portable devices such as laptops, tablets and smart phones means that a growing share of this consumption will interest mobile networks. It is expected that by 2017 IP traffic on mobiles will grow by 15 fold, mainly driven by video. This level of IP traffic creates bandwidth challenges for mobile operators.

Introduction of HEVC standard allows operators to save up to 50% bandwidth over MPEG-4 AVC standard and makes it a viable proposition for mobile applications. Mobile operators can take advantage of this high performance video processing to deliver highly bandwidth efficient television services to consumers over mobile broadband networks. Combined with multicast mode of Ericsson’s eMBMS LTE networks the AL2000 enables the most efficient delivery of popular content to consumers, while on the move, hugely reducing network traffic and bandwidth utilization issues for operators.

Housed in a compact 1RU chassis, the AL2000 can take standard MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 AVC transport streams over IP or video via SDI to encode it into the HEVC format ready for streaming to the mobile devices. AL2000 can output streams using MPEG-DASH segmentation. The option is available where the HEVC stream can also be stored as file for later transmission.

Four 2.5D DVEs per M/E, Four 3D DVEs

Flying key, which moves titles with DVEs applied, is available from all DVEs and can be assigned to all resources in any M/E, whether PGM, PST, or KEY 1?4. P-in-Ps are available in a variety of other shapes besides standard shapes such as quadrilaterals, and can be used in live sports coverage, for example. The switcher’s 3D DVEs include page turn and other warping effects.

The reble610 is an evolution of the innovative and performing Reble310. The Reble610 differs for an accurate hardware design, absence of internal cabling and an increased modularity. 

The unit is built on a basic chassis with 4 extractable boards which makes maintenance and critical operations, like frequency modification, easy and efficient. The Reble610, like its predecessor, contains two hot swappable power supplies, both AC and DC versions are available. 

The modular approach has brought to the development of the data interface module (containing modulator, demodulator and data interface) and the RF module (containing Transmitter, Receiver and channel filter).

From an RF point of view the new transmission circuitry is able to guarantee at least 1 watt at the head with every modulation scheme, introducing in addition, wideband precorrection (up to 1GHz depending on frequency band). 

Major innovations on the digital input side, the interface is equipped with 10 BNC connectors configurable singularly as ASI/BTS inputs or outputs, in this way the unit functions de facto as a distributor and ASI matrix both inbound and outbound. 

The Reble610 can carry IP traffic to/from a GbE port, an E1 at 2048Kbit/s (alternatively to two ASI/BTS input/outputs). A connection named ‘transit' has been introduced so that the entire baseband can be forwarded to another unit, in order to efficiently build an RTX couple (repeater style)

To transfer all these signals the channel capacity has been increased to 56MHz and bitrate equal to 310Mbit/s; using an optional XPIC module (and an extra Reble610) it is possible to duplicate the bitrate increasing it to 610MBit/s, exploiting H and V polarizations and cancelling undesired content using special algorithms.

A new management software offers complete control over device parameters and settings, an on-board TFT touch-screen allows for a simple and intuitive user interface to check for anomalies. The same monitoring and control can be carried out thru a particularly easy to use web interface and thru SNMP.

scalable, pay-as-you-grow, licensing and software upgrade mechanism facilitates the launch of new services, or last minute network design changes, without rebuilding the entire network infrastructure. Migration from ASI to GbE and IF to L-band is facilitated by simple in-field installation of license keys.

Migration of standard distribution links towards S2 Extensions can be as simple as inserting a MDM6100 modem in the head-ends while keeping the installed base of IRDs.
Additional capabilities such as DVB-S2 extensions and others are anticipated to become available on the platform as the standardization efforts materialise in the near future. The brand new DVB-CID carrier identifier is already available as a software
option on the MDM6100.
