Radio Sol

Founded in 2020 in Tirana, Albania, Radio Sol is a radio station operating on 89.0 MHz frequency and streaming live at www.radiosol.al. The studio of Radio Sol, RF network is designed, implemented and currently maintained by tbs 96 ltd.
tbs 96 ltd has a long collaboration with Top Media, especially with Top Channel. Since the very beginning of Top Channel, tbs 96 ltd has provided supplies of the latest technology such as Canera Grass Valley LDK series, Mixer Gras Vallet, Nevion Routers, Intercom Riedel, etc.
One main project has been the design and provision with OBVAN Full HD remote studio with all of the Grass Valley equipment.
As the latest project, tbs 96 ltd has provided the Big Brother VIP Production with the latest technology of PTZ Cameras from Sony.
Equipment supplies for UHF analog broadcasting in Albania together with the relevant antenna and microwave systems in the network of analog broadcasting. From 1995 until now, tbs 96 ltd has been the main partner of RTSH for the planning, installation, and maintenance of these systems in all broadcasting stations.
The microwave network for Pronet consists of over 30 microwave links from manufacturers such as Proxim, SAF, etc. In order to cover Albanian territory. Equipment installation and commissioning conform to all the technical standards.
Microwave network (data transmission) for General Customs Directory with over 14 connections, including the installation of high-capacity UPS systems with over 10 hours of independence, commissioning and 2 years of maintenance.
The DATACOM project for the General Directory of Police in Albania consists of the communication of all the border checkpoints, police stations, and regional directories with the General Police Directory and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This project started in 2015. During this project over 110 microwave systems have been installed in the data sharing network with a capacity of 400 Mbps. Following the installation of the SAGEM microwave systems with 400 Mbps capacity in 2015, tbs 96 ltd has successfully maintained the whole network with over 110 sites, including connections in the microwave systems, supply and rectifying systems from ELTEK for the installed equipment in the outdoor racks.
For the digital broadcasting network to expand, robust measurements of the signal distribution towards the broadcasting systems are required. The network of microwave systems is composed of microwave systems from Elber and NEC, which enable not only the connection between various stations but also the backup from two different and independent sources to guarantee that broadcasting and the delivery of the T2MI signal for the new broadcasting standard DVB-T2 will not be interrupted.
The implementation of this project began in 2017 while using the DVB-T2 broadcasting devices, with 200W to 2400W RMS power, produced by Italian company Syes, replacing the DVB-T transmitters and also installing additional DVB-T2 transmitters in new sites. There are currently around 24 DVB-T2 broadcasting stations in Albania, which guarantee signal coverage in the majority of the territory. The project is still under development in compliance with the plan approved by the AMA (Audiovisual Media Authority). Distribution of the signal of the Tring platform, transport stream T2MI to the broadcasting points is executed through the microwave network ASI/ IP. In addition, for the dispersion of the T2 MI transport stream, fiber optics have been used as a backup.
The network of digital broadcasting for TV Klan has begun with the arrival of the new standard of broadcasting DVB-T, with project design and installation of the Head-End and broadcasting systems from 200 up to 600W RMS in 10 stations of broadcasting in DVB-T. Lately, this has been switched over to the new standard of DVB-T2, which guarantees a higher quality of channels broadcasted. In this new standard, the number of broadcasting stations has been increased to over 24, from 300 to 2200W RMS power, thus ensuring coverage of over 85% of the territory and over 92% of the population in Albania. The network is composed of numerous components and equipment, starting from the digital transmitters (Plisch, Syes, etc) to the microwave system (Elber, NEC), which delivers the data to the broadcasting stations. The digital broadcasting system has been configured in SFN to ensure signal synchronization within each allotment. The main services have been project planning, installation, and maintenance from 2012 to the date.
